WELCOME TO THE PRINCIPAL'S PAGE
Happy May! Please be sure to attend our Parent Teacher Conferences on May 15th. Students in second through fifth grade are expected to attend as well. The will share their Leadership Binder with you as well as the progress they have made towards their WiGs(Wildly Important Goals).
This coming Wednesday our wonderful KINDERGARTEN students will be participating in their Sight Word Spelling Bee!! It will take place in the main building auditorium at 9am.
There are a slew of events going on the next two months- PLEASE KEEP OUR CALENDAR HANDY so that you do not miss anything.
On Tuesday, May 14th, the State will be coming to visit our school due to our ESSA designation. We are now a Targeted Assistance School. One of the areas that we are not meeting state targets is attendance. Over 150 of our students have a 66% attendance rate. The research is VERY clear regarding the connection between student achievement and attendance. It is our responsibility to ensure that our students articulate out of P.S. 94x ready for middle school. We need your support with this responsibility as well, students MUST come to school everyday. School is not an option, it is a state mandate. There will be more information about this in the coming months.
Students will also be taking their end of year assessments throughout the month of May and the beginning of June. Please be sure to support your child by getting them to school on time, and encouraging them to STUDY prior to the assessments. If they do not eat breakfast at home, they may have breakfast at school.
I am looking forward to seeing you!
Fondly, Diane DaProcida- Sesin
