WELCOME TO PS 94 KINGS COLLEGE SCHOOL!

Principal's Message

January 2020

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you had a joyous and safe holiday season spent with family and friends.

As we begin the fifth month of school, we will continue to focus on excellence in teaching and learning. Our goal is to ensure that each of our students receives an education that empowers them to develop as effective learners, leaders and contributing members of society.

During the months of January and February, we will be assessing our students’ mid-year progress as well as administering the Gifted and Talented Test.

On January 20th, we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights movement. At PS 94, we embrace our multicultural community and celebrate student diversity.

Activities scheduled this month include our Spelling Bee and Parent Workshops. We hope you’ll attend.

Finally, winter brings cold weather and challenges to our recess program but rest assured that students will have outdoor recess whenever possible. Decisions are made daily about whether recess can be held outdoors. Wind, wind chill temperatures and the condition of the playground (ice, snow or standing water) are considered before a decision is made. Dressing in layers, wearing winter or rubber boots, gloves/mittens, hats and scarves will help your child stay warm and dry. To avoid overloading our Lost & Found, please label your child’s warm clothing!

Fondly,

Diane DaProcida-Sesin
